Years ago, a friend MADE me and his wife watch "Where the Buffalo Roam"

and he kept cracking up throughout the whole movie.

She and I kept looking at each other, then back at him. The whole time he had a big ass glass of scotch in his hand (for some reason it appeared to stay full, even tho he was drunk on his ass).

I've yet to understand why the movie was so funny to him. He couldn't explain it to us.

In light of Mr. Thompson's untimely death, I think I need to devote some time into understanding the movie, and the man.

1. Read "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas"

I enjoyed the movie, but it was 1/100th as good as the book...Hunter is an amazing writer, and F&L is my favorite (probably the funniest book I've ever read). It's a great way to learn about Hunter...

3. If you get a chance read HST's "The Banshee Screams For....

Buffalo Meat" his memoir of Oscar Zeta Acosta, his erstwhile Samoan attorney. That movie kinda combined that and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas.
