Any Jetta Drivers have reviews?
So I've decided that the Jeep I have is a ton of fun, but not for an hour highway commute. So I test-drove a 02 tdi jetta tonight and I loved it. Quiet and quick, good handling and 46mpg or so. I've seen mixed reviews online and just wanted to see how yours has been. Thanks!

2. Buy it soon...
Because they're changing the current sharp-looking Jetta into something that looks like a Corolla, only more bland, later this year. And raising the price.

4. It;s the one car we can get over the snowbank
After the fucking plow comes past after the drive has been shoveled out. The heavy American one, and the station wagon don't do as well.

Good on gas, nice bells and whistles, of course, I am talking about a much older model, which says something for their longevity.

5. Yes....
It would get great gas mileage and could also be run on biodiesel. However being a German car, you probably have to have it serviced at the VW dealership or an European car specialist. The average grease monkey at Precision Tune may have some difficulties with certain drivability problems. Also spare parts are not going to be as easily available say compared to a Ford.

I short, I really don't know but I think it is worth a try.

7. yea, that's the downside
my real worry is if the timing belt has been done. I've gotta find that out on this car, but it's a trade off I'm willing to deal with otherwise

9. Right...
I am not sure if the TDI is chain driven or belt driven, but it's something you should find out. Also while he has the car apart to do the service, insist that they replace the water pump and any seals that might be leaking (lot cheaper to everything at once). Since the car is a few years old, make sure it has had its 30K mile service, check the tread on the tires, and the wear on the brakes.

If you are buying it from an individual ask the owner these question, and copy of the service records.

10. I dont' have TDI, but I have a 2.0 L Golf. Which I ADORE..

I traded in my 1990 Golf for this one in 2003. It handles beautifully...I just love VW suspensions. And the fact that you can see OVER the front hood and also see out the back....You don't sit in a hole.
My mother has a Passat Turbo station wagon, same year (bought a week apart). It's simply amazing....has more pep and power than the 6 cylinder! (It's only 4 cylinders but the Turbo is awesome). And it has HUGE cargo room, more than most SUVs

Both cars have been perfect.

PS.I had a Rabbit for 11 years prior to the 1990 Wolfsburg Edition Golf, and before that I had a Super Beetle, and even a little Beetle before that.
To say I love VW's is an understatement.
