3. I am so sorry
I know where you stand. Been through this twice. Saw my granddad dying over the years through cancer, saw my dad dying within half a year because of a brain tumor. Still miss my dad dearly. I had birthday the other day and in the night before I dreamed of my dad. I think that says a lot.

5. this came on quickly as well
about a year ago she started feeling 'not so well' to use her words...within two months she was on full blown chemo treatments and the like...nothing to operate on...too wide-spread...now she's gone...the world is a darker place without her light...

7. My dad started to feel tired
then he had more and more blackouts. We didn't even get to the chemo. The docs told us he would die anyway, he would just take longer. We decided against it. Why make him suffer more than he already did. The worst thing wasn't really the the dead itself but to see my dad losing his abilities (talking, walking, sitting ....). We weren't quite sure how much he figured what happened to him but we had the feeling he didn't had pain and didn't understand what was going on. The tumor took away his intelligent and mind.
Sometimes I think it is better when the cancer takes a person quick instead of a year long slowly dying.

12. I hear ya, and agree: it sucks.
At one of my churches, the "patriarch" of the church (25 members) just got diagnosed. Prostate (operation), lung (inoperable), now spread to spine, liver and spleen. All in 3 weeks. It's just a matter of time, and everyone is devistated.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like she had a good friend in you.

14. Save some hate for heart disease
My family has remarkably been cancer free, but the ailments of the old ticker seem to concentrate their damage on my family.

I am sorry for your loss. I'd like to whack cancer and heart disease in their faces with a bat. I hope one day our research finds some way to control these killers. In the meantime, you are in my thoughts. Best wishes to you and yours.
