what's your fast-food favorite, or guilty-pleasure?

I just LOVE the steak-egg-and-cheese bagel on McDonald's breakfast menu...YUM!

which we don't have in NYC. :cry:

They just don't have the good Midwestern guilty pleasures out here...

I'd kill for a Steak & Shake in Brooklyn...

Oh, and they're no longer owned by McDonald's as far as I know. And if they were...eh...

Occasionally, I love a Big Mac without onions, fries, and a root beer. I've found, though, that the Big Mac has shrunk over the years, so I've taken to making them at home where they resemble the original Big Boy rather than the McDonald's clone.

Luckily, they are located about 20 minutes away so I rarely indulge.

That is one chain that i wish would expand to the midwest.

i like the t-shirts too.

I guess for fast food it's pretty healthy. Love the apples, grapes and nuts with the chicken on that great wheat bread.

Now of course if I'm visiting the East Coast you can't keep me away from White Castle.

and the turkey club.

At least that what my addicted 14 year old says. They are good aren't they? I'm not sure what the spice mix they use but it sure works---especially when they get them really crunchy.

Which is fine for me right now, but not someone trying to lose weight.

Loaded with grease, but good. I REALLY like Arby's Fresh Market sandwiches, too. I'm sure they're no better for you than their regular sandwiches, but I can kid myself.

Especially the grilled chicken sandwich and Southwest chicken salad. Fortunately, they're both quite light on the fat and calories.

Extra crispy.

fried eggs and toast, drowning in tobasco. Corned beef hash is good the same way.

Namely, the Spicy Chicken Burritos and 7-Layer Burritos. Mmmmmmmmm....

I haven't had one in awhile.

I always get the chicken bowl. I don't really think of that as a guilty pleasure though. It's a pretty decent, balanced meal.

but it is still fast food!

Sometimes I'll skip the chicken entirely and just get eight biscuits and a large gravy for lunch. :)

and they taste fantastic.

Haven't had it in soooo long, though. After seeing Super Size Me, I have boycotted fast food - with the one exception of Subway. :)

...that I can eat an entire jar of olives in one sitting, and I don't realize that I'm doing it till they're all gone. Green ones, black ones, Kalamata, hot-spiced, sun-dried -- even those washy California olives that don't taste like much of anything. It's like candy to me.

I suppose there are worse things.

at the grocery store. Not fast food exactly, but I know it's not the healthiest meal I could choose :)

I'll have a dozen with cheese, please.

Don't want to know what kind of meat-filling that is in there but it's sure tasty!!

High in fat, carbs, bad cholesterol, sodium...probably about 6000calories per serving, but delicious.

...or anything from Del Taco.

I've been on the low-carb thing for 18 months (and look and feel better then I ever have), but I get the New York Fries jones every so often and indulge:

God, those things are evil, but so yummy.

Also, there used to be a fast-food restaurant named Mr. Fables that had a good bacon burger deluxe - they'd put olives on the deluxe burger, that was real good.

I used to be crazy about the bacon cheeseburger pizza from Armand's, which I can't have anymore. I have my memories, though...

Now my favorites are chicken burritos, chicken kebabs, and various chicken dishes from the Chinese restaurants. Mmm...

I used to like--and this will sound super-boring but different strokes for different folks--a plain (no ketchup, no mustard, hold the pickles --nothing!) bacon cheeseburger and regular coffee every time I went into the Roy Rogers. There was something so greasy and plain about the food, it was just utterly perfect. The bacon was just chewy, the bun just moist, and the burger just a hint smoky. And the coffee was...just...coffee. Fast food zen.

My current guilty pleasure is coconut shrimp at the Chinese buffet place around the corner from me. I know it is *not* a health food, so I limit myself to three little shrimp--but the sauce is soooo sweet and thick I can't help having a taste.
