I'm vegan, and I'm here to clear up some things:

- I don't convert people to veganism
- I'm not anemic or anorexic, and I'm not rail thin.
- I'm healthy
- I feel no need to push my eating habits on others.

please stop bashing vegans.

Your little bullet list for some odd reason reminds me of the Molston's (Or is it Molson's) Little Canadian Rant commercial :)

But serioulsy, as a meat eater with many vegetarian and vegan friends, it's not funny, it's annoying, and it seems to be making some of the loungeites unhappy. Let it all end please.

Of course this is my first time posting in a week and a half, what do I know "shrugs"

edit: children who are raised vegan must be breast-fed until about 6 in order to get the necessary nutrients. That said, I love the vegan folk, as long as they're not sanctimonious and humorless -- which you seem not to be. :)

But I must point out that has to be false. I have been vegan for 2 years and have never heard such a thing. vegan kids are breastfed for the same amount of time as meat-eating kids.

Only with evangelical vegans. Same as I have no problem with Christians who don't find it necessary to try to convert me or tell me I'm going to hell for not thinking as they do...you've found a way to live that you're happy with, and that works for you, excellent. I"m happy for you. But if you want to preach and tell me I'm wrong for not following it myself, well, then we have a problem.

By the way, I have been anemic and rail thin most of my life, but not because of diet. I have my dad's build, and doctors never could figure out the anemia. I sure did have some awful tasting medicine though, but I was fairly healthy.

With all the various food ads that you see on tv, print and such. I no way in hell have the will power to stick with something like that. I can't even stick to a low cholesterol diet much less anything else.

Just the fact that people that are Vegans can stick to it when everything is geared toward meat & stuff is pretty amazing. To me anyway. :)
