6. I used to get "THE LOOK" from my mom
& I immediately cut out whatever I was doing.
Since she didnt use "THE LOOK" often, I took that shit very seriously

7. Actually Paddy, Strangers Used To Buy Me Candybars While My Family
would be waiting on line cause I was so well behaved. People would compliment my parents on our (brothers & myself) behavior all tlhe time.

And today, when I see kids acting really well behaved... I make a point of complimenting the parents.

8. darn close
My siblings are 8-13 years older than me. I grew up around adults. I don't think my parents punished me since I was about 8.

OK, sometimes I stayed up too late reading.

My dad was a teacher at my high school. I never skipped a class without permission. (I got one ski day skip a year.)

I didn't get drunk until I was 29 and that was sort of an experiment.

I didn't have a curfew, so I couldn't break that. We went on a case by case basis.

I did cut loose a bit in college.

9. From a very early age I was quiet and pretty much kept to myself.
And I was always more interested in talking to adults than to other kids. So, I guess my hand is up, here.

child.

22. Same here....
I was always well behaved. A lot of it had to due with my personality, but also my parents had high expectations for me. I was also frequently responsible for caring for my little brother (younger by 5 years). I think I became sort of a mini-mom when my brother was born.

11. I was.
I was born 45, I've been waiting a long time for time and biology to catch up.

I was an excruciatingly well-behaved child. And grew up to be a badly behaved adult....

Khash.

13. I ate out every Friday night as a kid from the age of 3
We all knew to stay seated and we all knew you speak at the table in "restaurant voice." My mother had three children and worked full time as a seamstress in a sweatshop. My father was gone often due to his line of work.

Socializing kids is good...it stops them from bashing their cousin's head in with their Tonka trucks thereby obviating the need for a 3 year old to be prosecuted as an adult when cousin dies of traumatic brain injury due to being battered with a Tonka truck.

14. No one can claim to be perfect
but my dad has always remarked that my siblings and I were always well-behaved in public and they never had any qualms about taking us nice places, because we had been taught proper behavior.

Kids (before puberty) running wild is a sign of BAD PARENTING.

Once the hormones kick in...well all bets are off.
