Favorite genre of music?
I can't start polls, but I suppose it's for the better here, there are too many genres.

I'm going to pick ska.

18. Me too, but add funk and New Orleans music.
Have you heard Scofield's latest album with M, M, &W? It is unbelievable.

I'm going to see Robert Randolph, Govt. Mule, and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe at separate shows next month. I'm totally psyched for November.

4. I love all kinds of stuff
But numero uno would have to be "progressive rock" (e.g. Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Yes, Dream Theater, Spock's Beard, Emerson Lake & Palmer and many others)

Then, I also love top-40 from the late 70's to the late 80's, jazz, classical, alternative, industrial, ambient, techno....

My only dislikes are opera (sorry, hate the singing), most country and most rap and modern r&b.

6. Classical, Opera, Jazz, Techno, Hip hop, Swing, anything except...
...country. (yech!!!) (However, Blue Grass is awesome and Alabama, while strictly country, is great.)

Balinese music and Tibetan music is far worse than country, but almost nobody has every heard it, thank God!

Favorite song would be a three way tie between Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Dire Straight's Money for Nothing, and anything by The Doors.

24. Electronic music
.. pretty much the same as Arcos, ie. chill out, lounge, ambient etc.

I also have a taste for the more older electronic, ie. Kraftwerk's Autobahn & Trans-Europa Express albums, a bit of New Order here and there and a few other synth-bands.

With the various types of '50s rock 'n' roll running a close second. That would include R&B, rockabilly, and doo-wop.
