i generally lurk here and other places (politcal and non-political) and am not new to discussion lists in general. i go through periods of heavy posting and then find something else to do.

i dunno. sometimes i feel like i'm just writing on the equivalent of an electronic restroom wall, but i realize that the onus largely rests on my shoulders to be more active in many departments of my life so that i can actually make some form of contribution.

i have a tendency to get depressed many times and i think my insecurities form the basis for a lot of my verbal nastiness (in electronic and real life), but things haven't really been too good lately.

i'm looking around at the world, looking at my employment prospects, taking stock of myself personally--the realization that i probably will NEVER fit in is descending upon me like a black vapor.

you can run around and go through the motions and carry on like there is nothing wrong, but i've largely stripped things down to the point where i have relatively few distractions. i've disallowed the possibility of finding satisfaction through material things and have figured out how to live with practically zero income and now my brief incursions into the workplace leave me feeling like a kindergartner. i mean the surveillance and punishment ethic is alive and well (i worked for two weeks this month as a temp) and i cannot fathom living the rest of my life going back and forth to a cube farm to sit and moisten a chair for 8 hours.

in short, i am in yet another existential crisis and have fucked myself in a hole.

still, i guess there is hope, but i can understand why HST ate a bullet sandwich. i don't blame him. it surprises me how a singular nonconformist like him could hold out for so LONG.

Everytime I'm reading through threads, seeing that picture always gets a chuckle out of me. It's just so funny, he thinks he's being all clever making the sign, about being stupid no less, then AGAIN when he holds it up for the picture...man.
