So here are my plans for the rest of my life. How do they sound?
Edited on Wed Feb-23-05 11:08 PM by Bouncy Ball
I'm in my mid-thirties now, working full time in education and working part time on a Master's degree.

After I finish that, I want to get a fellowship (even a dinky one) to get a PhD. Or work as a TA, whatever. I'm willing to live in dinky, ratty, CHEAP grad student housing while doing it. (And my husband and daughter, amazingly, are willing, too. He'd be working full-time during all this, as he has been.)

Then, once I have the PhD, I want to avoid gainful employment as long as I can, as all overeducated people should do.

After that, possibly an inheritance will come our way and I'll REALLY be able to loll about. And husband will be able to loll about, too, and maybe get that history degree he's always wanted. Oh I forgot, and we'll be full-time activists and part-time rabble rousers. I think I just repeated myself.

Travel my ass off, be a total thorn in the side of republicans, work for the betterment of all people.

Then as an old lady, I want to be a real hell raiser. Who's gonna say anything to me? I'll be OLD! At that point, I can REALLY tear it up. Sending around petitions in the nursing home, staging protests over the quality of the food.

Doesn't that sound like a great plan?

3. We need to work out the schedule
'cause I'm going to crash on her couch too.

I'm going to use my mafia connections to help her out with a little problem and she's going to totally corrupt me and teach me how to dance on tables while singing torch songs.

The first time I was there, I was by myself for 5 days. I talked to lots of locals. My mom never taught me not to talk to strangers. ha,ha.

Brownies...special brownies? BTW, you'll be relieved to know I ate something.

In all seriousness (and I know you weren't), he's just so not into money and IS very into the idea of him being the only one....allowed to.

But hey I did say they were plans for the rest of my life! Women typically outlive men! If you're younger than me, when I'm in my 80s, you're ON!!!

Hot 80 year old sex!!!

23. And I added in
flashing people from the top of the Empire State Building. That's very important. I've already done it at a couple of Hard Rock Cafes (out the window of upper floors). That cabbie nearly fell over.

27. At least you were a kid. I have no such excuse.
All my flashing has been of the chest variety and as an adult. POST college!

Although I will say I wouldn't ever get them out when I am expected to or asked to, as in Mardi Gras in New Orleans. That just ruins it if it is expected.

You have to go to the top of a very tall building and flash THE WORLD!

LOL!

(I never mooned anyone. I feel so out of it!)

while my cousin honked the horn. this being the hour that the pubs closed and the steeets were filled with drunks we were angry at. we did it because we were sober, and obviously, broke and it was ireland and we were teenagers and we couldn't find the VW filled with german hippie greens.

28. Reminds me of my younger (and less civilized) years
A group of us used to go on an annual camping trip along a river in a state park. We were a kind of wild bunch, and would reserve the entire group camp for the weekend. 4 times a day, a riverboat cruise passed our camp, and every time, we all ran down to the beach and mooned the riverboat. Poor tourists, cruising along, and lo and behold about 35 bare asses facing them.
