I just bought a puppy from the Humane Society
His name is Albert. I named him after Einstein, because hes a mutt, and is misunderstood, and smart.
I lost my bulldog 3 weeks ago, and my basset hound is dying now and in pain.
I cannot bear to live without a dog.
Albert is half cocker spaniel, and half pekinese. He already pooped outside, he is 6 weeks old. All the other puppies were mean to him, so we picked him at the shelter. He is asleep now with a teddy bear on one of my old sweaters.

1. Ah. Cute.
I know what you mean about not having a dog around. My
Gretchen died after 20 years. I have five dogs now. I'm
certifiable. :)

4. He sounds so sweet
I'm so sorry about your bulldog and basset, I know how hard it is to lose them; they're like babies.

Albert sounds just like the guy you need to fill the void. :)

5. My last dog came from the humane Society. She was a mutt and
one of the best dogs I've ever had. I had her for 15 years. She died two years ago, and I still miss her. My best to you and Albert.

6. I think this is a ritual
Ive been through so much death lately, and now, with my son possibly being delployed in 15 days, I needed to do something positive...so I bought a puppy.

8. Good on you. . .
My beloved husband of 30 years is "allergic" to animals. I put it in quotes because it remains undiagnosed outsdide of a distinct "getitawayfromme" attitude on his part. I really would LOVE to have a puppy or, better yet, a kitty, yet I am trapped in this fulfilling relationship with a non-animal person.

I've already told him that my next husband will love animals, be independently wealthy, and taller, and a plumber.

13. Sorry about your basset hound
Don't let him/her suffer. I recently lost a cat to feline leukemia, and should have put her down before her very difficult end. I am petless for the first time in over 15 years, and I hate it. Lost two beloved dogs in the past four years. Enjoy the pup - sounds like a lucky dog!

15. Lucky you!
I just lost my dog last Monday. He was old and in pain so I had to let him go. Of course I'll get another dog but I need some time. Actually I may get two so they can have a pal when I'm not around. Both will come from the HS. Rocky was nearly a pound puppy too as the stupid pet store where I got him said they were gonna send him there at the end of the week if no one bought him. I went back at the end of the week and bought my marked down mutt for $18. Best $18 I ever spent.

You did a smart thing - it's absolute hell not having a dog around now.

Wishing you and Albert a wonderful life together :-).
