1) Prickly City
2) Mallard Fillmore
3) Rose Is Rose
4) Family Circus

Howzabout you??

19. Not really...
Although Prickly City can be pretty reliably obnoxious, it does take swipes at the right on occasion.

The Daily Duck Droppings, on the other hand, are merely a steady diet of simplistic shots at the left that don't even try to be funny or entertaining -- think Sean Hannity in a duck costume. (Now, think of Sean Hannity in a duck costume on the first day of hunting season...)

30. Also B.C.
I always skip it because of the religious stuff. It seems out of place in a comic strip set in prehistory.

One of the professors in one of the halls on campus has a bunch of Mallard comics pinned on the bulletin board in front of his office.

So you know what I did one night??

I ripped them all off and threw them in a trash can on the other side of campus.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

15. There's plenty of RW teachers at my college.
But they seem to all be concentrated in the Agriculture and Engineering departments. The ag and engineering colleges at my school are NOTORIOUSLY right-wing. Most of the liberal arts, performing arts, architecture, and around half of the athletic faculty are liberal.

Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 08:46 AM by Mike Daniels
Mediocre family strip that became relevant because of a gay story thread and the hoopla that arose.

I noticed that Lawrence is almost never to be seen anymore except when Liz is having some sort of existential/relationshsip crisis.

Beyond that, recycled plot lines and God in the Machine devices abound...April has friend issues, Mike and his wife struggle to be parents, Ellie has aging and weight issues, Liz has relationship issues, Mike and Liz lose employment or direction in life and find it again one week later, blah, blah, blah

I'm personally waiting for Grandpa and/or his wrinkled old lover to kick off to see how little space she uses to summarize that plot twist.

22. Gotta go with Mallard Fillmore
Luckily, my local paper no longer runs it, now that we don't have the FReeper (really, he literally was one) editor we used to have.

I've never actually seen "Prickly City"; I'd be interested to see what it's like. "Rose is Rose" is usually so off-the-wall I don't even attempt to understand it anymore.

As a parody of bad comic strips, that's actually pretty funny. But as a straight comic strip trying to be funny, that gives me diarrhea.

BC.

Another RW piece of shit.

One of the comedians was making fun of Cathy the other night. It was kinda funny. What a stupid 'comic'.

Mallard Fillmore takes the cake. I don't get the paper and don't read the comics anymore (stopped after Calvin and Hobbes), but Fillmore is the most blatantly RW crap I've seen passed off as a comic.

38. Brewster Rockit: Space Guy
This unfunny, crudely drawn strip is not the most dreadful on the Houston Chronicle's comic page. I'm quite capable of ignoring the worst offenders ("Mallard Fillmore," etc.). (The Chronicle has a huge selection, since it retained the strips run by its competition, the Houston Post--which it shut down.)

No, I hate Brewster because they canceled "9 Chickweed Lane" to make room for it.

And a 30 year old comic strip about the military is funnier than this allegedly "hip, funny" strip. I agree with you about "Brewster Rockit", Bridget.

I have never heard of Prickly City. My local newspaper recently changed their comics section and eliminated some comics, but worst of all they put Doonsbury and The Boondocks on the Opinion page. I only read a few comics on a daily basis, Dilbert, Garfield, Doonsbury and The Boondocks. Most comics I ignore or only look at ocasionally.
