17. Iron Butterfly's got a lot of good ones
"Unconscious Power", "Soul Experience", "In the Time of Our Lives", "In the Crowds", "Belda-Beast", "Termination", "Soldier in Our Town", "Stone Believer", "Slower than Guns"... a few more. All but the last one are on their "Best of" CD (yeah, kinda funny they have one, since they only had three or four Hot 100 hits) Rhino put out a few years back. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot, especially if you could find it at a discount if you aren't sure whether it's your kinda stuff.

Then again, I'm not exactly known for my good taste. :-)

18. Honestly
I have very few, 'cause I normally admit to liking pretty much everything I like. I kind of take pride in liking critically-lambasted bands. But I can probably think of at least five...

1. early Toby Keith- yeah, this one is pretty shameful. I really don't want to like it, and yet I do. Just a few early songs, like "He Ain't Worth Missing", "Who's That Man (Runnin' My Life)", and "Does that Blue Moon Ever Shine on You?." That awful jingoistic piece of shit he came out with made me shameful of being very open about liking this stuff, though.

2. Christina Aguilera- I actually like a lot of her post-"Dirrrty" singles ("Beautiful", "The Voice Within", "Fighter").

3. Milli Vanilli- Sure, I like cheesy eighties pop, and I'm not too ashamed of it, but it's hard to exactly proclaim your affection for a group that wasn't really the group you thought they were. I guess I should say I like whoever made those slick yet catchy German pop singles in the late eighties. haha

4. Post-Terry Kath Chicago- The critics hate them in pretty much all eras, but sometimes give the earlier stuff a bit of a pass. I love the seventies stuff and I'm not ashamed of it, but I actually like the eighties stuff far more than I like to admit. Awesome power ballads...

5. Huey Lewis and the News- I grew up not knowing it wasn't "cool" to like most of the music I listened to. Eventually I came to terms with most of it, and figured, "Hey, if people don't like it, whatever, that's their problem." For some reason, I'm still a little embarrassed about these guys, though... :-)

19. Maybe Kenny Rogers is okay, as long as he doesn't revert to country
As for the rest, they aren't on my wavelength.

Unusual likes? The Temptations, Anne Murray, Art Garfunkel and Rod Stewart. Shows my age, and my preferences.
