Anybody get an odd, old, unpopular song chronically stuck in your head?
Edited on Fri Feb-25-05 02:25 AM by undisclosedlocation
THERE'S a subject line that's a ticket straight for the archives!

Anyway, the one that always gets stuck in my head, for reasons that bewilder me utterly, is "Pandora's Box" by Procol Harum, the followup to "Conquistador," but vastly less successful. It got played for about two weeks, I didn't even like it noticeably and I'm reasonably certain that I haven't heard it in at least 30 years, and yet... it always comes back to me. Must be the bass line.

Anyone else have this experience, or am I the only brain-damaged one? (Or as a backup question: Does anybody else remember this song?)

Edit: Tried to clarify the subject line

8. "Sausalito Summernight" by Diesel...
Also, "Nicole" by Point Blank. Two obscure songs from my childhood that have never gone away and pop up in my brain at random intervals...

18. Is that the one about "blowing $80 on repair"?
I didn't even know who sang it. It just was part of the the great soundtrack of my long-gone youth.

21. Yes...
You said "forget about the airline,
let's take the car and save the fare."
We blew a gasket on the Grapevine
and eighty dollars on repairs

Full lyrics here.

It's a great road trip song :-)

16. The theme song to the Facts of Life
I hate that song but for some reason a lot of mornings I wake up and that is the song I'll be singing in the shower. Maybe it's the spirit of Charlotte Rae trying to convert me or something!

and

The Countess

24. Oh - I got one even worse than that...
...and, curiously, by the same group:

BOOM shakalaka BOOM shakalaka BOOM shakalaka

From 'Let Me Take You Higher', I think. Get it stuck in my head all the damned time, and I've not heard it in YEARS.

Oh, and "Grazin' in the grass is a gas baby can you dig it".
