You know what I hate about Spider Solitaire?
Knowing you're losing after the second deal and still having to play to the last card. I hate that.

4. You like the sound of the cuckoo when you can't go any further?
Could they have come up with a more obnoxious sound to tell you you're a failure?

8. why would anyone play the game with sounds?
I thought it might be cool with pinball, but it was not.
For a long time I never used my speakers, until I discovered the joy of copying all my CDs. The radio was kinda cool too - I loved the 80s rock station, except it played too much Stones and Zeppelin, just like real stations did in the 1980s.

6. how can you know so quickly?
What I think is worse is having a game that you should win. You have most of the cards turned over, you have two stacks up, and the last deal is just total crap, like queens and tens and you cannot do a tanjed thing.

I am somewhat proud of my persistence. I played 43 games at the difficult level before I finally won. Now I have lost 88 games and won 5. I switched back to medium and it seemed a little easier and my winning percentage is trending upwards slowly, now at 46%.

9. I know that situation very well, too.
I can just tell when the reds and blacks are getting a little too familiar with each other in the columns too soon. And you don't see too many kings, which means they're either all under the face up cards or they're just waiting in the undealt piles to lock up your columns.

12. I have games where I feel I am getting pummelled
I have turned very little over, and each new deal makes things even worse. You get a good long string, and the deal puts a king on top of it and you are miles away from an open column. I hang on to the bitter end because "you never know what the tide is going to bring in", and it is alot of fun when you can win one of those games against all odds.

Actually you can start a new game at any time. The computer asks - "are you sure you want to start a new game?" I feel it should ask - "are you sure that the game you are playing now is crap?" Then I would say "Yes I am, flush it already." Give me an Archie Bunker sound effect.
