Another reason why America is doomed...

And you all thought that only bushyboy could graduate from Yale despite being functionally illiterate:

The Mayor of New Haven decided a while back that the city should be more environmentally conscious, buying electricity from "green" suppliers, and so on. He was advised by several people, including some of the local newspapers, that perhaps his "environmentalist image" would play better with the public if he didn't use a Lincoln Navigator as his official vehicle. He got rid of the Navigator and is using a Prius hybrid now.

For some reason, the Hartford newspaper ran a story about this last week, even though it's kind of old news.

Finally, the point of this post: The newspaper story quoted a guy who was a Yale graduate and former Chief of Staff for the mayor. Here's the actual quote he gave to describe what got the Mayor to change vehicles:

"We were like, dude, those aren't your values."

1) Yale graduate? "We were like?"

2) Chief of Staff, addressing the Mayor he works for? "Dude?"

For quotation in a front-page newspaper article?

Can we agree that a young politico with a degree from Yale might fit the description of somebody who might be "one of our future leaders?"

And we were like, dude is as eloquently as he can express an idea?

Am I justified in desparing for the future, or just being an old fart?
