How to Speak New Yawk-ese
Whadza mattuh wid da whey I tawk? You gotta problem widdat? We doan got time ta say all dem sounds so’s we smash it all tageddah.

Here are translations of some common words and phrase in New Yawkese:

Fugeddaboutit (forget about it)
Giddowdaheeyuh (I don’t believe you)
Nyshplayshagot’ere (nice place you have here)
Jeet? (did you eat?; variation: Jeet jet?)
Gole joolry (gold jewelry)
Sumpinscrewee (there is something screwy going on)
Uvcaws (of course)
Glazza wottah (glass of water)
Hootoldjadat? (who told you that?)
Smattuhr? (what is the matter?)

More:
fadduh, muddah, sistah, tawk, fawk (= fork), shudda (should have), wuntcha (won't you), smattuhr (what's the matter) and juhhimee (did you hear me), youvadanuff, assawayigoze, idear (idea) and sofer (sofa)

There isn’t just one New York; accent there are many. NY Italian as spoken by Tony Danza, Robert DeNiro, and Bugs Bunny. NY Jewish from Fran Dresher, Jackie Mason. And NY Irish by Rosie O’Donnell, Rudy Giuliani and Rick Schroder.

Regional accents are fading here as they are all over the world. Meeskya!

3. Those phrases look like Dutch
After all, it was the Dutch who first colonized New York. It was first called New Amsterdam and Harlem is named after Haarlem, a city in the Netherlands.
