What in God's name is this country coming to?
While the police in Florida were looking for the 9 year-old girl who is missing, they stumbled across the body of another 9 or 10 year-old girl! Christ on a crutch, how many 9 and 10 year-old girls are MISSING in Florida????

:wtf::cry:

To hell in a handcart.

Hard to keep pushing the despair back, isn't it?

7. With Jeb Bush's Child Protection Services Agency
We'll never know.

They estimate 800 children have fallen through the cracks.

It's a big scandal down there.

8. Yup, and now they're talking about privatizing CPS...
down here in Texas. Gee, I have faith they won't go with some fly-by-night, low-balling, friend of the governor with that contract. :eyes:

9. My daughter is 10.
I can't even let my mind go there. I have nightmares. This is why, when she rides her bike to school in the morning, I follow along, slowly in my car behind her. She insists it's ok, she's 10, she's fine. But I just can't. How would I know if she got there or not?

:scared:

14. I hear ya, mine has to call me when she gets to her friend's house
to let me know she got there. A couple of times she forgot, so she got to not play with her friends for a while. She never forgets now.

I'm just too scared of someone nabbing her, though I know the probability is low. It haunts me.

18. Yep, the thing that always goes through my head is
"What if something happens that ONE time I wasn't paying attention???"

That's the thought that scares me. If she is playing outside, I won't shower or nap. Too scared. She has to be inside for me to do either of those things.

Where we used to live, one couple had four kids, all boys, and they played outside unsupervised all the time, even though they were EIGHT and UNDER. The youngest was barely four, the oldest almost nine. Well, they were in the street all the time and myself and other neighbors talked to them about it, to no avail.

One morning the garbage truck was backing up because they missed a can, and the four year old was on a Big Wheel, looking behind him, but going straight for those back double wheels coming toward him. It ran him over. They got a Care Flight helicopter in there but he died on the flight.

That killed me. He was my daughter's friend. A few months later, I was playing around with one of her electronic toys and his initials came up for having one of the best scores. I cried all over again.

People HAVE to watch their kids.

10. I know, Padraig....
I switched on CNN while they were airing this. I took me a minute to realize there are TWO girls - they found one, and the Lunsford girl is still missing. UNBELIEVABLE!
