I saw a UFO last night
No, I am serious.

I saw the object at 1045 PST in the Southwestern sky, Well below Orion and Sirius, but approximately below and between them.

It was an incredibly bright light that shifted between blue, red and white; primarily white though.

I thought it was a plane at first, however, where I work I know the flight pattern overhead and that was outside it. Still it might have been a plane if not for:

  • It stayed perfectly still for about 10 minutes.
  • It was far brighter than the lights of any plane I have ever seen.
  • There were very small white lights darting back and forth from the object and the ground at high rates of speed.

After several minutes of watching, a bright red light appeared from within the larger and brighter object, flew northward for a moment and then took off much faster than anything in flight I have ever seen. A short while later, the larger object stopped sending/reciving the white lights and became much dimmer, then flew off slowly in the same direction as the smaller red light, then took off after a moment at the same fantastic speed.

I tried calling the UFO reporting center, but was greeted with scorn and told that I was just looking at Sirius and it was too late for him to argue with me.

:eyes:

Anyway, that's my story. This is the only time I can say with absolute certainty that it was a true "UFO" and not maybe just a helicopter or plane or something. --- I suppose it still could be, but I'd like an explaination.

1. Welcome to the club.
No, you're not nuts. As I've said in the various Peter Jennings UFO threads a day or two back, I saw one when I was very, very young. It was late afternoon and appeared to be large, black, and saucer-shaped. The saucers don't seem to be spotted as much anymore, so I consider myself lucky to see a "vintage" UFO.

Anyway, I haven't seen another one for 18 years, and I'd love to. There's something jaw-dropping about seeing something that conventional wisdom tells us is fiction.

5. Conventional thinking gave us the flat earth society.
The one I saw seemed to be "looking" at me if that is possible. It was like it was there for me to see but not my friend. She didn't see it. I wish I could see some grayboys. I must be either incredibly sleepy or sick in the head but I feel attracted to grayboys. Which reminds me of a question I have. Why do they only mention male aliens?

2. Technically
UFO's DO EXIST. Unidentified flying object. My classmates in college throw stuff at me. If I didn't see it because it came from behind me, it's unidentified. Not saying you saw paper, just saying if you take the same circumstances outside way up in the sky, you can see ufo's.

Okay, with all that babble behind, I can tell me weird ufo story. I was standing outside one summer night back in the 90's talking to a friend. From behind her came this triangular shaped x-files green thing. It wasn't a triangle with straight lines, it hard curves. It flew really fast first to the west then turning north on maybe a 90 degree angle, then it disappeared. I'll never forget it. I had hoped for that split second it was my kin folk coming to take me away from all this, like the calgon commercial only better and for real, but alas, it was merely traveling to its destination away from me. Jama, phone home. :|

3. Fabulous! You're lucky you got to see that.
Did the lights move in strait lines, on an arc, or randomly? Could you determine an approximate altitude?

4. I would estimate...

that they were about I dunno -- maybe 10,000 feet in the air?

They seemed to move in a straight line. But they were at odd angles.
