I think JC played at OU a few years before Aikman.
Hint....the quarterback that took over for Troy was a freshman and when to high school in CA.

Holieway is correct. He was a freshman and took over when Aikman got hurt. Once Aikman realized OU was not going to get out of the wishbone, he asked Switzer to help him transfer to UCLA. Barry did everything he could to help with the transfer, since he knew that Aikman would have a better future at UCLA.

21. Regarding Aikman
Last week I was listening to a sports talk show and they were interviewing one of the coaches that had been on the staff at OU when Aikman was there. He said in his 30 years of coaching he had never seen a quarterback throw the ball any better than Aikman. However, Aikman's skills didn't fit with running the option. My how times have changed at OU...from rushing for 400-500 yards a game to now passing for 400 yards a game.

A big goofy bird. They changed the mascot uniform several years ago to make him look more menacing.

The only two I could think of in D1 schoold were the Crimson Tide and Fighting Irish. Small college I can think of a few, but even that is hard. Good question!!!!!

That's the longest I remember, but I bet there is one close to 100 yards.

He was a third string QB behind Bradshaw but played WR quite often. He even caught a 90 yard pass from Bradshaw in the NFL.

55. Kordell Stewart is the Colorado QB
you are probaly thinking about, but you are 20 years off. Stewart was never a backup to Bradshaw but Stewart did play a little bit of Wide Reciever in his pro career.
