I'm doing pretty good today!

We have some flurries, just like yesterday. The ground just got cold enough for it to stick last night, so a little bit of white on the ground. I'm enjoying it! There just hasn't been enough snow so far this year- my apt.'s man-made lake should be frozen this time of year!

Shawshank Redemption is DEFINITELY at the top of my list! It was just great! The acting, the story, etc. I haven't seen Million Dollar Baby, but if you do, let me know how it is. One of the big reasons I haven't seen it yet is because of all the hype. I hate hearing about how great or spectacular a movie is and then it not living up to what I've heard. But I definitely trust your opinion! As cheesy as it is, Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie. Stupid, I know. hehe

I think that's very cool! Hmmmm, first thing I notice about a guy. I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but I look for the type of person he is - does he share my core beliefs, is he a kind-hearted person, etc. Sounds like a cliche, I know, but that stuff is very important to me.

a couple things. (Things I did wrong as a teenager, that I wished I wouldn't have). I had a bit of a rough childhood (alcoholic mom, parents divorced when I was 10, mom passed away when I was 20), but I think it has shaped me to be a good and strong person. (I hope, anyway). How about you?

I can agree and empathize with a lot of things you said. I've had to deal with an alcoholic in the family and with divorce at a young age. But you've turned out wonderfully! I just don't think I could change anything because everything that's happened to me has made me a better and stronger person.

Happy birthday, pretty Frodo! :bounce: How old is she? I'm sorry to hear about Lord Byron :-( Is that young for a birdie to cross the Rainbow Bridge?

My two girls are the loves of my life! I just rescued little S'More back in November. She was at my vet's office. Someone moved and dumped her on the curb. A girl, that also goes to my vet, found her and brought her in. Little S'More was there for six months. I kept looking at her on Petfinder and finally made an appt. to go and see her. When I got to meet her, she rolled up in a little ball in my lap and started kissing my hands. She is just an angel!!

My Lord Byron was a wonderful Golden Retriever and sadly big dogs don't live as long as smaller ones. On Byron's first visit to a vet for his puppy shots ... the vet mentioned that she lost her female Golden at the age of 8. So - he had a long happy life before he passed.

to read about the civil rights movement in the US. Some of the movies I enjoy as well, such as To Kill A Mockingbird, Heat of the Night, and A Raisin in the Sun.

The period I'm most fascinated - and disturbed by - is the East end of London in the Victorian era. Jack London's The People of the Abyss is a fantastic book.
