What's in a name?
I see usernames and get a picture and a gender in my head, only to find out after reading a post that I was dead wrong. Most names are generic so I don't know why I have preconceived notions about gender. Peeps I thought were fem are male, peeps I thought for sure were male are women. Go figure.
Who on here turned out to be a shock to you when you found out they were of a different gender than you thought?

2. I thought you were a male
when I first came here, now I'm pretty sure you're a fem from reading your posts. Am I right?

3. Yes
:D If you check my profile, it's clearly listed.

Boober is my faithful pooch. I didn't think about the confusion it would cause when I picked the name.

4. you for one
surprised me. I generally don't pay a lot of attention to matching names/gender, mostly because I have a hard time keeping track.

If I read 40-50 posts where somone makes reference to their gender - in a short period of time - then I eventually form the connection.

In your pareticular case, I am aware of matcom as being male, and the maco part of your name, I (apparently) connect with that. I checked your profile before posting this, and voila! I were wrong.
