HAPPY 78TH BIRTHDAY TO HARRY BELAFONTE!

Harry Belafonte was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY on March 1, 1927. He became popular in the late 1950s with such calypso-flavored pop recordings as "Jamaica Farewell," "Coconut Woman," "Mama Look at Bubu," and his all-time biggest hit, "Banana Boat (Day-O)." Belafonte also was active in the civil rights struggle of the 1950s and '60s, and was always happy to open his apartment to Martin Luther King when the reverend came to New York. Most recently, Belafonte delivered a moving, poignant eulogy for actor Ossie Davis.

I saw you in NYC on Feb 15,2003..when we were all there to oppose the Iraqi Invasion..and bush called us a "fringe group".

We were right then and we're right now..I don't care what fauxsux/whoremedia says about "democracy in the Middle East"..

It has nothing to do with bush's mass killings in Iraq.
