I was a latinoid for 4 years ( we had names for the three languages at our school, french, latin, and spanish. latinoids, frenchies, and... kids that couldnt do the other two :P)

My family on my father's side were Empire military. Some of my ancestors were stationed in India, Bermuda, Hong Cong/Manchuria, and during the Boer War.

...I can't help but notice the Thirteen Colonies are absend from your Empire map. Must be a typo.

and so the 13 colonies weren't on there.

Although I guess if you add the 13, you have to remove Lower Canada (Quebec)...so it probably works out to be the same square mileage.
