Boy, dogs sure love getting their tummies rubbed!
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 11:43 PM by NightTrain
I was relaxing in bed with Malloy on the computer when my roommate's dog, Mystique, decided to join me. She jumped up into the bed, laid down next to me, and rolled over onto her back. I knew what that meant!

So I spent a good 10-15 minutes rubbing Mystique's belly, until my arm got tired. Once Mystique realized that her session was over, she turned back over and gave my face a thorough tongue-bathing.

Have I mentioned just how much I love dogs? :loveya:

And here's Mystique, the sweetest dog on the whole planet:

2. This guy will do tricks for tummy rubs
He thinks I should quit posting to you and get back to work rubbing his belly (of course, he'd trade the belly rub for a bite of my chicken jambalaya, but I don't feel like dealing with his farts all night so he isn't getting any.)

That's from Lyric, her way of saying thanks.

Come on, we all know we don't own our doggies...THEY own US!!!

I say that Lyric is the best thing that ever happened to me. Lyric is God's own furry little angel, come to be with me all the time and to remind me that some in this world still know what unconditional love is all about!

the picture is deceptive, it's really not THAT big. This was after a big meal...she's not abused with overfeeding! I promise! she does love a good rub though.

16. I'm sad my poodle Awsi has changed so much in that regard
He used to nudge my hand with his snoot to let me know he was present and ready for a half hour belly rub, eyes closed with front legs pulled back and paws folded forward. When I was lying on my favorite little sofa he would lay down on his back precisely where my right arm would dangle off the sofa.

But now Awsi is 15 1/2 and is almost completely blind and deaf. He lays on his favorite cushion most of the day since he can't jump on the chairs or couches anymore. But when I pet him and try to rub his belly, Awsi strangely will not let me turn him onto his back anymore. I can rub his tummy when he's sitting or standing, but he doesn't seem to relish it like before and never reclines to his back. I'm just guessing since he's virtually blind he doesn't like to lose his bearings by being upside down.
