For the fans of the Moody Blues...
I love their music, have many of their albums.

BUt what idiot in that band wrote that gawdawful "poetry" in many of the albums?

1. That would be Ray Thomas...
though both John Lodge and Justin Hayward helped. I"m a fan of the Moodys, but my favorite song by them is still "Go Now", and it's never played..

3. Well, I just can't help but wonder...
How stoned they were writing that drivel.

I mean, "Cold hearted orb, rules the night, removes the colors from our sight." :eyes:

2. John and Justin
John Lodge and Justin Heyword were responsible for a majority of the songs and lyrics, though Mike Pinder (the one who believed in us coming from another galaxy) did his share before he left the group. I think Graeme Edge and Ray Thomas, the drummer and flute player, were less pretentious in some of their lyrics.

That being said, there is a lot of deep meaning in many of their songs for me, because they helped me along my spiritual path.

5. Mike Pinder wrote a lot of it too
The original keyboard player.

I LOVE the Moody Blues, but I have to admit that some of their stuff is just a tad precious.

6. Do Not Agree (I Am Sure You Want It This Way).
The Moody Blues have produced seven complete albums that have meaning. Their poetry are many things but "gawdawful" is not one of them.

Beathe deep the gathering gloom.

8. Not the lyrics to thier songs.
That asinine "poetry" they put on albums, like that stupid one after "Knight In White Satin."
Good song, stupid "poetry."
