Well, satire or not, it hits close to home because I KNOW lots of people who feel this way...

My sister in law says that I'm a pretty good guy despite being damned, and she's 100% serious (well maybe not about the pretty good guy part)

5. A narrow majority of Catholics voted for Bush. We should paint
them with the brush of those extremists. If those Catholics only knew how crazy those people are, maybe they wouldn't vote for them.

...it's "maybe" satire when you read the sermon, but when you go to the home page, you know it is!

13. It may be satire, but I know of many RW Fundies that almost fit
this model.
I grew up Catholic in a rural Baptist community. I can remember stories about how they would chastise someone for breaking the rules.
Remember the movie Footloose? it was based on a true story.
This web site is not that far from the truth at least in the beliefs of some of these groups.

20. I have eaten Spam. I like it.
Not on a regular basis, but once in a while I like to fry me up some Spam, drown it in mustard, and eat it as a sandwich, or Spamwich. Yummy!
