Poll question: How much have you donated to DU during the past year?
I have made a lot of little donations, 5 dollars here and there to give people a star who I think deserve one (and I have been mistaken in that regard, but I figure DU still gets the money). I just checked my bank statements from the past year and it adds up to less than I thought.

Regardless, there is no shame in 5 dollar donations, IMO. The poll is as anonymous as you want it to be, I am just curious!

2. Kick again - Any contribution is worthwhile
I give a little bit of money to a lot of organizations, but not a lot of money to any one organization. The dollars can be stretched pretty thin. However, in the past two years I have discovered that giving anything to beat the conservative rape of our country is money well spent.

6. I was donating $10 a month until June, if you must know.
;) In June, I realized that I could save $60 if I stopped being so damn generous. I also wanted to be able to afford donating to some other causes. So now I've gone back to making somewhat larger one-time annual donations, with maybe a tad thrown in here and there during a fund drive.

7. Lol, I donated to NPR for the first time this weekend
and it nothing to do with any "liberal slant," if one could even say they have that at this point. But I listen to cartalk every Saturday and figured I owed them. Unfortunately, it pretty much took care of the rest of my "donatin'" money for the year.

8. I stopped listening to public radio years and years ago
out of habit changes, more than anything. So even though I miss things like Car Talk, What D'You Know?, Morning Edition, ATC, Prairie Home Companion, etc., at least I don't have to feel guilty that I can't afford to support them. (Oddly enough, I've stopped watching much Public TV either, so I feel similarly guilt-free about not giving them a dime, either!)

11. I have often wondered that
I think it is just an unspoken sliding scale... unemployed folks, maybe 5 bucks a year? If you are making 100K and are a frequent user, I am sure something in the multi-100 dollar category would be more appropriate. I think it just boils down to what you can afford v. the amount of the service that you receive.

Personally, I am on here pretty much every day for multiple hours (I have a slow job and sit in front of the computer) but I am kind of broke (School + wedding fund). Since last June I think I have given about 80 dollars, mostly in other people's names though.
