I've known for a while, but sometimes I get so excited just thinking about it that I kind of scream a little bit.
I've known her since I was four, we grew up together. Went to school all the way to graduation from college (roomed together). She was like the older sister I never had (18 months older).
She's been married for 12 years and they have tried for five years to have a child. They went through everything and finally did in-vitro fertilization and are having twins in May! They only had enough money for one shot at in-vitro and the first one worked.
I still can't believe it sometimes. And the great part is, I haven't been this excited about the pending birth of anyone since my own daughter, over 10 years ago. She's in Austin and I'm here, but I've already made three trips down there to help with the nursery, registering for stuff, planning the baby shower, etc. I'm going down three more times including for the birth.
I can't believe it. Last time I was there I got to feel them kick and my daughter did, too. I took pictures of my daughter's amazed face when she felt them kick. I'm making a scrapbook for her, after they are born.
These are going to be the only grandhildren on BOTH sides.
Wow, I'm excited. Can you tell? I love those babies already. I cried when I saw them on ultrasound and that is SO not like me.
