Sitting in a tree on a cold windy day

About to take off

I think I'll jump off this building and scare all those cute college girls

Taking off from a branch (notice the falling snow)

Yo, I'm outta here, send me royalties!

Keep em kicked :D

It must have been difficult to hold the camera steady since you were probably excited at the sight! And of course the fact that with digital, there's a delay between when you press the shutter and when the picture is actually taken, means that it's hard to know what you're getting...GREAT JOB!

You can take it to a photo processor and they can push the picture a bit to clean it up.

I am serious...my friend who is a zoologist says pics that perfect are always appreciated by the right sources..it can be cleaned up.

That's a really nice color morph, too: quite light. Could you tell by size whether the bird in question is a Ladyhawk or a Gentlemanhawk? :)

It's illeagle < sicbird > (oh, I KILL myself! hahahaha) to own redtail hawk feathers, but I always imagine how they would look in one of my dreamcatchers or mandelas.

63. Is it really "illeagle" to own/posess the feathers?
We live in a Canyon here in Marin County, CA and there is actually a Red tailed hawk like this (and her mate) who screech and fly outside my house daily. (I love it)...Their nest is across the way in our Canyon perched in a old oak tree, and on hikes I find the feathers which my 5 year old treasures....alert Homeland Security.... :hi:

70. Let me guess...
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 12:14 PM by Greyskye
...you're using a digital camera. Specifically, one that has a slow response time. I'm guessing that you are taking the picture nicely framed, then immediately lower your camera - which then actually takes a beautiful picture of feet.

Either that, or you have a camera with a foot fetish.

73. what beauties
we have a pair that nest near our house in a greenbelt. Last year the tree fell down (it was rotten) and i was so sad thinking they wouldn't come back but they did this year and they made another one. We were able to get close enough last year to take pictures of the babies poking their heads out. I love to sit and watch them. When i drive home from work its not uncommon to see Red Tailed Hawks perched on the tall street lights over the freeway.
Thanks for the pics.
