My hands do not absorb many lotions for some reason, so to keep them soft, I use a pair of special gloves and old fashioned vasilene once a week. It works. I also use Keihls lotion daily...No, I don't work for them.
6. And no matter how much water you drink, or moisturizer you use…
…if there's insufficient humidity indoors where you are, you're gonna have dry, chapped hands.
Most homes lack sufficient humidity in the winter and need room humidifiers to bring the level up to the comfort level (30-60% humidity).
I bought some inexpensive humidity gauges and found that my home in winter ran about 15% - 21% most days. It's no wonder my hands were just about flaking away in winter.
You'll use less moisturizer if the air isn't literally wicking away your body's moisture.
