Searching phone numbers

Anybody know of a website that you DON'T have to pay to get information on a phone number? Already tried Anywho.com but I'm thinking it might be a cell phone. I've had calls where the person hangs up immediately, but just a few minutes ago, someone called and just stayed on the phone for a minute - didn't say anything. I thought the days of crank calls were over! WTF!
