and made a link with the recent RW outrage re: death penalty for minors considered unconstitutional.
Here's the crux of the matter: FOR THOSE TYPES, ONLY THE EXTREMES ACTUALLY EXIST: INFINITE GOOD AND INFINITE EVIL. ANY ENTITY IN THE UNIVERSE, CONCRETE OR ABSTRACT, IS EITHER PART OF ONE OR PART OF THE OTHER.
Therefore, any action with the intent of moving away from one extreme MUST be an attack from one of the Cosmic Armies, with the final goal of reaching the OTHER extreme.
That way, you'll understand why so many of the dolts were whining that we "want to give murderers a slap on the wrist" or "we want to release them all to the streets" or other BS on the same lines, even though it remains perfectly legal, for example, to sentence them to life in prison.
Life in prison, a slap in the wrist??? Remember: only extremes exist. Therefore, anything that in reality doesn't lie at any extreme MUST be categorized as being at the extreme.
They choose to categorize any punishment that is not the maximum as a slap in the wrist. Anything not in the "good" extreme MUST be on the other.
I think it would be interesting to apply this line of reasoning to RW blathering on other subjects as well, besides criminal law. I suspect it explains many things.
Let me finish by saying: although liberals are much more resistant to the aforementioned personality disorder (YES it IS one), we're not immune. Try to keep a discipline of logic at all times.
