When Clinton was President did you
ever go out specifically trying to find right wing websites, and write them letters telling them they were wrong for not agreeing with him?

I get letters from righties and I think... wow .. you have to be a completely fear based TOOL.

They have their guy in the white house, they have control of the mainstream media, they have the Senate and the Congress .... but all they can think of doing is going out and finding Democrats that don't agree and write them hate letters.

I never thought of going out, finding and then writing to any Republicans when Clinton was President. I didn't give a rat's ass what they thought. I thought more about making sure I felt the people in office represented what I cared about. Even though I'm a liberal that didn't mean I offered up blind faith.

These people are strange.. they think anyone with an (R) behind their name is God and instead of making sure their representatives are actually doing their jobs.. all they can think about is anyone who might be out there "not thinking like them".

1. NO! Nor did I spend so much time on a site such as DU
Life was good, didn't need to constantly worry about what is the government going to do to me next.

2. The freepers are very organized. They give prizes to their
brain dead believers if they get into radio shows or letters to the editor published pushing the repug agenda. Said during the campaign supporters that were successful got pictures, t-shirts, etc. for their efforts. They are very, very good at what they do - spreading lies and misinformation. And absolutely shameless.

3. They base their politics entirely on emotion
and they feel threatened by anyone who relies on facts.

6. That's true but the (pardon my french) mind fuck of it is
they twist it around as if Democrats are relying on emotion and not facts... when THEY'RE the ones doing it. This whole twisting and skewing of reality is what is so difficult to combat.

4. When Clinton was president, I was too busy making money and...
...enjoying my life to much worry about the righties and their crapola. I MISS THAT TIME! Hell, I bought a truck with CASH! Everything was golden then, everybody was making money. None of this "cut SS, cut Medicare, no jobs, barely getting by, make do with less, fuck the little people" shit.

All they had was a stain on a blue dress...sigh...and they made a big deal out of that. Now we got soldiers dead in an illegal war, and it's like LA-LA-LA-LA-LA, who cares?

Now? ...shit...this really sux....I don't want to think about this right now, not with the gun in the desk drawer here...

Heheheheh. Frickin' REPUBLICAN ASSHOLES! Sigh...

10. I hear ya!
During the Clinton years I was making close to six figures, had a house, a brand new car, health care, disposable income. Gave tons to charity.

NOW. No job, no health care, about to file for bankruptcy... need to RECEIVE charity. WTF!!! God that pisses me off!

They can laugh it up all they want but they'll be next, unless they're part of the 2% that are millionaires, they're going to be affected eventually too. Of course they're so clueless they don't get it until it's too late.. because they have to be TOLD what to think.

Don't reach for the gun. We need people like you. I need people like you.

Actually, I wouldn't have it if they hadn't loosened the gun laws! Heheheheh....naw, I was just using that as a "literary prop."

Far more likely I will reach for the bottle instead...

Sigh...feels a teeny bit better now...won't last tho.

UNDER EDIT...so mad I can't get my HTML right, even...sigh.

8. No. I haven't watched the news sinc 1981 on TV. With Clinton in office
things were good and I really didn't pay attention to what was going on. I think 9-11 got me into all the internet stuff trying to find real information, because you sure couldn't get it from anywhere else.

9. I was thinking about the Clinton years while in the shower this morning
No idea why. I remember that I was happy and hopeful back then.. Life was good, cashflow was good, people were nice. I first sensed things were changing when Clinton's entire life was being investigated and he was ultimately impeached, I still can't believe that happened. It doesn't make any sense.

Obviously the Freepers and other asshole Repukes lived through the Clinton years too. I really think they're just jealous, and are lashing out because they know they were wrong about him and wrong about Bush. Of course they'll NEVER admit that.

11. Everyone WAS happy.
It was great. There were plenty of jobs, life was good. I had that same feeling about things taking a drastic turn when Clinton started getting invesitgated for his affair. I noticed a big change in the media right then and I was surprised.

What I don't get is my Republican co-workers- they had jobs and were prosperous during the Clinton years. Now, they fear losing their jobs everyday and have had to cut way back on their lifestyles, and live in fear just like the rest of us. (I got laid off but a few of them are still there)
All I can gather from them about why they are still Republican boils down to this feeling of righteousness that their religion gives them, and evidently they can't maitain those beliefs and vote in their own financial best interest. I remember abortion being a big deal.. but they didn't care about children that were here. I also remember taxes were a big, big deal. They hated the idea of being taxed.

I wonder if that $300 break they got is really making an impact on them?

18. The same old repug rhetoric
Anything good that happened during the Clinton years was as a direct result of the Reagan/Bush 12-year rule (even though that 12 years ultimately resulted in a recession). Anything bad that happened during Clinton was a result of Clinton. Now, anything bad happening because of Bush was a direct result of Clinton, and anything good is a direct result of Bush jr. The things you have to fool yourself with to be a republican.

12. I didn't then, and I still don't...
What am I going to go over to FR and threaten them about burning bibles and forcing abortions on them? No, I didn't do it in 1998 and I won't do it today. What the hell is the point? I can't stand them, so why would I go out of my way to interact with them? Freepers that harass us despite the fact that they control the government seriously need another hobby!

20. I remember the day Clinton was elected and took office.
It was like a heavy weight had been lifted off of the country and there were going to be good times ahead. As it turns out, there were eight good years ahead.

... and then look what happened.
