1. Like there's any doubt...
Another dull season of coma-inducing races lies before us.

2. I don't know
My spider sense tells me we'll see a non-obvious winner Sunday.

Call it a hunch, I voted for Fisichella. For some reason I think he'll be on fire this year. He lapped 0.1 second behind Alonso in his first practice.

3. F1 beats Nascar
which really is more boring than watching snails have sex

4. You should watch DTM
Imagine NASCAR if it was fun. And no ovals either.

7. the difference between f1 and nascar..
is that the F1 drivers race the course while NASCAR drivers actually race each other. "Driving in circles" isn't as simple as it may seem. I'll suggest to you as I do everyone else who shares that mindset; get yourself a copy of Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 2003, a force feedback wheel, disable all driving aids, set the AI strength to 101%, and try racing at Daytona or Tally. Then tell me how boring it is racing three-wide into turn one at 190+ MPH.

8. Yep, I guess that's why NASCAR is becoming so popular...
...in Europe that they plan to have a track there, and the European press dedicates so much space to NASCAR. Thanks for explaining that!

And gee, who was it that won so many ROCs over there, against F1's best? Lots of NASCAR guys, that's who.

12. Just exactly who are the winners of "so many" ROC's?
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 02:30 PM by Twillig

I see a lot of Rally drivers, but 'Lots of NASCAR guys' you say. I see Gordon and Johnson.

Yeah, and they built two tracks in Europe for CART, too..but in regard to NASCAR they have plans.

B-)

I don't mind NASCAR, and you'll never see in a NASCAR thread busting any body's balls. Forgive me if I try my hand here.

6. jeez the gaps in times for friday's session
are pretty big. 0.3 from de la Rossa to Kimi, another 3 tenths to Heidfeld. Must be chasing the track. Somebody mentioned elsewhere that it was going to be wet for qual.

It could be anybody this week, maybe. Guys with faster cars could have to play catch up in the race. I hope they do the passing on the track instead of the pits..

I'll take a gamble and say that Monty gets in gear and qualifies well and wins going away.

15. I was thinking him too
although it seems that it's not an official race until one of the McLarens blows up, and it's usually ~not~ Kimi's.

10. Schumi, hands down.
If Ferrari retains it's technological superiority, mail it in.

If it rains and sheer driver talent starts to matter, then Schumi's got an even bigger advantage as long as some other driver's maistakes don't take him out.

16. Schuey, of course...however
With the new tires, aerodynamics, engine and qualifying rules...it should be an interesting season.

Also, Villeneuve returns (albeit with Sauber).

Vroom, vroom.
