Help me escape the 700Club, ask me anything

I've been in here for nearly 2 weeks. It's so bad that I fell ill last Friday, and have been in a perpetually weakened state since, and only just restarted posting at D.U. - perhaps a Providential sign that I should turn from my wicked-ways and remain in the 700 Club forever. Halleluj-quick I need help it's starting to get to me.

4. It's Mother's Day on Sunday

In the U.K., I think that Americans have a different one.

So I'm going to my sister's to help her cook lunch (which will actually mean that her husband and I cook lunch) for my mother. Need to get flowers and a card tomorrow.

8. To be honest...

that part's not yet planned. I'll be speaking to my sister tomorrow who'll get the shopping in.

A few of my dry martinis will certainly be made, and she appreciates them a lot.

10. Do you know the origin?

Our's is on the middle Sunday of Lent, which traditionally was a mini-party to celebrate being halfway through the penitential season.

Girls in service would be given the whole day off (half-days off were normal back then), and they would go home with some small present for their mothers'. Originally called Refreshment Sunday, and later Mothering Sunday; it has also had religious over-tones of 'mother-church'.

I was hoping to get out last week-end, but that was when my fever started....

I had mocked the idea that the 700Club affects you, but then it made me ill to stop me posting on D.U.

12. Paper-pushing

I've been mentally roaming around since graduating, and wondering what to do long-term. There's been plenty of office-based temp-work, which means that I can pretty much sleep all day (or as with my current position, post on D.U.).

Ideally would love to go back to university.
