Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett and George W. Bush...both acid flashback victims?

Bike
(Barrett) 3:22

I've got a bike, you can ride it if you like.
It's got a basket, a bell that rings
And things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I've got a cloak it's a bit of a joke.
There's a tear up the front. It's red and black.
I've had it for months.
If you think it could look good, then I guess it should.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I know a mouse, and he hasn't got a house.
I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I've got a clan of gingerbread men.
Here a man, there a man, lots of gingerbread men.
Take a couple if you wish. They're on the dish.

You're the kind of girl that fits in with my world.
I'll give you anything, everything if you want things.

I know a room full of musical tunes.
Some rhyme, some ching, most of them are clockwork.
Let's go into the other room and make them work.

4. Wrong
I was always told the last line of the last verse was

"Stairway scare, Dan Dare, who's there?"

5. I can't believe you compared the idiot Bush with someone
like Syd Barrett who was innovated and responsible for the way Pink Floyd sounded plus he also named the band after 2 of his idols. They were Black blues and jazz performers PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. My DU nickname was named after Syd's Pink Floyd's first recorded single released in England in April 1967 ARNOLD LAYNE.

7. Stairways, scared, and death rules there

Bush's problems have to do with the fact that he's a born-again frat boy - they have nothing to do with drugs (except maybe alcohol). And Syd rules.

9. Who would have thought that Syd Barrett would still
be alive and doing fairly well and still living in Cambridge England in his own house and able to take care of himself pretty much. He lives close to his sister and brother-in-law who I hear look in on him on occasion to make sure he's doing alright. They make sure he is taking his medication he has severe diabetes beside his mental problems. He just turned 59 years old January 6 and still likes to paint pictures alot and listen to classical music. He never listens to Pink Floyd and his songs he wrote and performed when he was with Pink Floyd. They say he becomes deeply depressed the few times he tried to listen to his old music still aware of what he could have had and lost out on because of what the huge amounts of LSD he took and the what permanent damage it did to his brain. So sad, but I hope he still can "Shine On" one day again. :hippie:
