Apparently Ms. Stewart is currently taking a nap.

What could this mean for the price of Martha Stewart Living's stock? Updates, and infrared images of Martha's post-prison nappy-poo, within the hour!

4. I disagree
if people didn't care, the networks wouldn't cover it.

Rightly or wrongly, people have ALWAYS been interested in celebrity news, especially when it involves crime. This is not a new phenomenon. Celebrity trials have sold papers for centuries.

It just seems that since the OJ trial these media outlets are always ready to pounce on a politically sterile scandal.

The ratings were through the roof on that trial.

I guess it may be true that the media doesn't lean left or right, but has both feet planted firmly in sensationalism.

that's my take on it, and it's been exacerbated by corporate demands that news centers be profit centers.

There have always been sensationalistic media and more sober media. I guess the senationalistic ones made more money.
