30. Glad you can see that's a *good* sign.
I have a relative who has gone through like 10 girlfriends (along with their own children, in many cases), in the last 15 years, while raising his two boys in a joint custody agreement. Most of them ended up being live-ins/babysitters while he pursued the next conquest.

It's been tough on his kids. Especially when they bonded with the other kids.

26. Take the kid(s) with you!
If you're going to be getting into a relationship with her, the kids will be a part of it. You may as well get used to it now, and you'll also score points for being understanding and accommodating!

Plus kids can be a lot of fun! ;)

29. Good point.
I dated my fiance for over a year before I let her meet my boys. Of course their mother might as well have a revolving door on her house. It looks like she belongs to the "man of the month" club or something. Hopefully the boys will follow my example instead of hers.

Sounds like your lady friend has a good head on her shoulders and her priorities are well-ordered. Congratulations and I hope things work out well for you!

Looks like this whole thing will require some patience, what with the complications of children from previous marriages...

Hope all your patience is rewarded with a good relationship.

42. that is the healthy way to handle it
good for her! it doesn't always feel good, but it's the right way to do it.

i'm a single mom, too, and it's another sacrifice we have to make - get to know someone when the kids are not around, then bring that person slowly into their lives. i've had a couple of men (even just friends!) bail on me, and my kids suffered yet another loss.

when a child loses their dad, they experience grief. each time a man leaves their lives again, it brings up all those issues. better to play it safe. good for her, and great for you for respecting her and the situation.

so you can hang with your virtual friends, kids or no kids, and no one gets hurt! well, most of the time.......
