Catholics Rule!
I just got a fish sandwich as big as my head for $5. Do Catholic churches have fish frys everywhere on Fridays in Lent? Here in Pittsburgh, there's a Catholic church every couple miles, so it's a big thing here. Is it that popular in the rest of the country?
Just curious.

1. Oh, Lent is indeed a great time for the W. PA fish sandwich!
Most definitely as big as your head! Best served with cheese, ketchup, and pickle. Mmm... I'm thinking about running down to the church to get one! :9

3. There are a lot of fish fries in Illinois right now
There are a lot of Catholics here.

The high school uniforms for their girls schools are nice too. I like Catholics.

4. Our parish has one every Friday.
You can also get fried shrimp or clams, if you're not crazy about fish.
$5.00 gets you fish, slaw, hush puppies, bread and a drink.
:)

5. Come, now.
Catholics really haven't ruled since the days of the Holy Roman Empire and James II.

7. I hadn't really thought
about the theocracy angle when I posted that. Too busy eatin'.
Hopefully we're not headed back down that path, although...

8. hrmm...
I grew up in NY. The only food I ever got at a Catholic church was a small dry cracker.
