OMG! Martha can't drink!
This is getting ridiculous. Martha Stewart, while under house arrest, cannot have any alcohol. No wine, nothing. Not even mouthwash. I could understand this if her "crime" were drug/alcohol related, but this is just ridiculous.:eyes:

9. Oh, Please...
She lied about a crime that they could not even prove that she did, and which she was not charged. She was singled out because she was a successful woman who is a known Democrat. Meanwhile, KennyBoy walks free, safe with the knowledge that Martha did his time for him.

If the government wants you to be convicted of a crime, they will do it.

32. I'm sorry.
The crap from the past four years has just gotten to me. I have an occasional breakdown.

We don't have Osama Bin Laden and the major Corporate Criminals, but by god, we got Chong and Martha:eyes:

Again, I am sorry if I came off as too rude. I am just sick of being ruled over by right wing blowhards.

10. If she wasn't Martha Stewart she would never have been
convicted of lying about something they could not prove she did.

Ken Lay - and what jail is he in now?? The real rich fat cats are walking around and a female scapegoat is made an easy "example".

29. Give me a break...Ken Lay should not be in prison...
All he did was bilk 1000 people out of their life savings.

What Martha did was lie to a federal investigator about a stock sale.

You can't compare the severity of these two crimes. Clearly, Martha Stewart is a menace to society. God knows what she would do if she had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.

One thing is certain, and that is that Martha will continue her successful ways. I just hope that this time around she's a bit nicer to her fellow human beings.

21. Martha should drink lots of coffee and eat lots of garlic
and then go breathe on those fuckers. Bet she'd get the mouthwash back.

I'm no expert on this, but I think "house arrest" is different than parole. And I believe even parole has a restriction of no "public" (as in bars) drinking.

25. I am a Martha supporter but I have no problem with this
I think the whole Martha thing was stupid and ugly and wouldn't have happened if they didn't find a nice democratic celebrity to make an example of to give the false impression they're serious about white collar crime.

With all that said, I can appreciate that while under house arrest one IS under arrest. And given the choice of being in jail or at home with a few restrictions, I'd take home EVERY time. EVEN if I couldn't drink coffee.
