Merlin went to his new home today.
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 07:28 PM by Padraig18
In case you missed it, one of our employees basically let us know that she would like to give Merlin (our store cat) a home. Ruth is a widowed, 78 year-old schoolteacher whose children all live away from here, and we suspect that she's a bit lonely. We decided earlier in the week that we would offer Merlin to Ruth (they adore each other), and she grinned like that cat that ate the canary when we did. The only conditions we placed on the adoption were as follows:

a.) If she ever becomes too ill to take care of Merlin, she will let us know, and we will re-adopt him.

b.) She must bring Merlin in to visit occasionally.

c.) If Merlin becomes ill, and money is an issue in his treatment, she must let us know so that we can help.

She agreed to all 3, so this afternoon, we bid Merlin a fond farewell.

I'm sure you will miss Merlin, but I'm glad he now has a permanent home.

On edit: What a beautiful cat that Merlin!

He adores Ruth, as she does him.

14. I had a lump in my throat, when she came to pick him up.
But he'll be fine, and Ruth will no doubt spoil him outrageously.

:D

6. Tony said the same thing.
How many cats have two three people willing to give them loving homes?

21. How long has he been the store cat? He looks like my cat Babe
right down to the beige spot next to the nose. I hope everything works out fine. I always love adoption stories in regard to cat and dogs. All animals should have loving homes. I hope Ruth and Merlin love each other dearly and that all goes well.
