Ever make something delicious to eat by accident?
I accidentally left some stale Ritz crackers in the plastic sleeve in the microwave while I was warming up something else...they cooked up crisp and toasty and very tasty!

Reminded of when I accidentally left the eggs out of a chocolate cookie recipe and the cookies were the best we ever had...unfortunately I don't remember the rest of the ingredients, so I have never been able to replicate them! LOL

1. My father used to do that often. The trouble was that he didn't
remember how he had done it so we never had the same good dish twice.

3. Well, he wasn't that good. But, occasionally he did cook up
some great stuff. He specialized in beef stews with potatoes and lots of other stuff. If he didn't have any beef roast, he'd sometime use hamburger meat. That worked also. He was a research chemist by profession and used graduated cylinders for his measuring cups.

4. I sure did, once, a long time ago....
I just threw a cut-up chicken along with some other things that I can no longer recall (alas) into the crock pot, and hours later, the most delicious dinner was ready. I've never been able to remember, or to duplicate, it. It was a sort of chicken cacciatore, I think.

sigh....

6. Tried to make fudge frosting once...
I substituted butter for shortening (or vice versa...can't remember which), and as it began to thicken, I realized that it was quickly becoming too viscous to spread -- but it *did* end up being very tasty fudge, once it finished setting!

8. I usually make total crap to eat by accident.
Cooking is SO not one of my talents, I'm afraid.
