You know, I drove past a high-school this evening...and I noticed the gym.
It reminded me of that time, long, long ago, when a teenaged Helen Hunt, whacked out of her mind on angel dust, believed she could fly.

We all stood around her, begging her to come down from the roof. And then she did, but not in the way we had hoped...

3. Helen Hunt and I used to walk along Kits Beach, when we were teenagers.
Once we even rode our bikes.

The chain on mine came off, and we both stopped while I tried to get it back on the sprocket. It was being kind of stubborn, so I told Helen to ride on ahead, and I'd meet her at the Jerhico Concession Stand.

By the time I finally caught up with her, it was too late; she had already become addicted to angel dust, and had thrown herself off the roof.

Can you believe it? She thought she knew how to fly!

7. Helen Hunt used to work at the 7-11 near my place when we were teens.
She used to have to sling Slurpees all day and night, and by the tie she got home, her fingers were often stuck together with a webbing of dried syrup, and her clothing was always caked with brittle pools of solidified, brightly coloured Slurpee.

"It was all worth it", she would say, "because it keeps me in angel dust".

It wasn't long after that curious remark, that she leapt to her death from the roof of the school gym, shouting "I can fly! I can fly-y-y-y-y-y!", on her way down.

It was pretty sad.

9. that may be true, but...
...the teenaged Helen Hunt wouldn't know. She didn't know the meaning of "good deed"; for her, it was all about scoring dust and jumping off roofs. She didn't give a flying fuck about that 'good deed' shit!

11. Not video, actually....
it's a bit of a grey area, but there's a school of thought that angel dust actually killed the radio star.

Not directly, of course, but because the radio star was under the influence of angel dust when she decided to try and fly off the roof of her highschool gymnasium.

Oh, and did I mention the radio star was actually Helen Hunt?

I'm tired...may I go to bed now, dearest?
