yeah they could squeak in. I'm just tired of Steve Alfraud and the way he's handled the program. The way he was being billed when he came in here he was going to make us into another Duke or North Carolina. Dr. Tom ran rings around Stevie's sorry ass. Thing is I truly believe if this were George Raveling he'd be gone in 3 years. Bowlsby can't suck it up and admit he made a mistake, a big one.
Iowa get shut out of the tourney and make that the final nail in Alfraud's coffin. Maybe then someone in Iowa City will have the ranch eggs to go after a REAL coach.
I hate the hype of the NCAA tournament, and enjoy the NIT far more. Sure it is not the big dance, but the players in the NIT seem to have more to prove, so they seem to hustle more.
For Iowa it would be a huge letdown once again. But we've become accustomed to that sort of thing come basketball season. After Kirk Ferentz works his magic on the gridiron I'm almost done with Iowa sports for another year. Too painful to watch a BB team with some talent on it squander yet another season.
I understand having a difference of opinion, but some people seem to go out of their way to be assholes! I guess it takes all kinds. I started a thread in DU and it was a simple request and..well...let's say it was not what I would have ever expected! I guess people are high-strung tonight..something "angered up the blood" (as Grandpa Simpson would say).
There are a few of us out here trying to have fun too! :)
