orbs at the local high school
my daughter has taken pictures at her high school and there are orbs that show up on several of the photos. this has happened several times.

i wonder if it is spirits from people who died in their teen years or did they grow up, old & die and just return to the high school because that was a great time in their life.

anyone else ever see orbs when they've taken pictures?

1. What do you mean by orbs?
Can you post a picture with orbs, so I can see what you mean?

2. i don't know how to do that
but my daughter scanned a couple in the computer. they are round circles, almost look like they might be transparent.

3. Hmmm. Not sure why orbs would be hanging around there.
Guardian angels for the kids there?

I have a great picture at my GF's farm where she's surrounded by a whole slew of 'em, but that's old civil war grounds (she lives in a 200 y.o. farmhouse) so goodness knows could be lots of folks there.

5. two years ago the army had an obstacle course set up
in the school for a "health fair". it was an inflatable thing about 12 or 15 feet high. the school did not put down the correct mats around it and the army recruiters weren't watching who went on it and making sure it was used properly.

one boy went to the top and jumped off (or fell off--no one knows), landed on the mats that were not for high impact, broke his neck and died in the hospital a couple days later.

so i know of one accident that lead to a fatality in that school.

4. Most plausible cause: dust
Most orbs are caused by dust, especially if she's using a digital camera, but even with an ordinary one you can get 'orbs'. The 'spirit' ones are usually more dense, without much of a texture and with no center.

8. i've seen photos with orbs on websites for ghost sightings
and these don't seem much different. we don't have a digital camera. (i wish we did!). i just think it's kind of strange. i've never had these little circles show up in pictures i've taken--and i've been taking pictures for a long time.

9. "lens flare"? what in the world is "lens flare"
sounds like a great product for treating sunglasses (anti-lens flare)

And I tend to agree with that, because I've only ever experienced "orbs" when using flash.

12. That's what I thought. I've seen plenty of real ghosts with my own eyes
But lens flare looks like what you are describing. It is a technical thing and occurs when you are photographing into a direct bright light. Maybe try googling on it, or get a better explanation from a camera store. However, if there was no bright light emanating from some source in the general direction of what you are pointing a camera at, (doesn't need to be digital, this has gone on for as long as there are lenses) then you might be dealing with what is called "ghost lights." They are an energy phenomenon and often associated with haunted sites.
