The Institute for Backup Trauma

When data is lost due to unreliable tape-based backup, the pain most of us feel is insurmountable. How can we continue our business when our precious information has slipped into a deep, dark void from which it will never return? As if this anguish weren't enough, the knowledge that we could have prevented such a tragedy is even more difficult to bear. For many, this frustration leads to anger, grief, and eventually, madness.
