Not quite as bad as the 'Tapioca Incident' in the late 80's - but not good.

1. You reminded me of the time
I was hardboiling eggs, and forgot about it, boiled all the water out and the eggs exploded all over my kitchen. NOT PRETTY

2. I didn't 'splode anything
But yes, one should endeavor not to run out of water when one is boiling. (Note to self)

I wasn't even asleep this time - like in the aforementioned 'Tapioca Incident.'

3. It wasn't a $65.00 pot, was it?
I bought a nice set of Calphalon cookware (Anodized Aluminum) and boiled the water out of my favorite when i was steaming broccoli or something. Pissed me off seriously. It totally screwed up the anodized coating and pretty much ruined a VERY expensive piece of cookware. ah well. Live and learn.

4. See 'Tapioca Incident'
And it wasn't even my pot. I was house-sitting.

I destroyed one other pot, but I've blotted the details from my mind.

I'm a good cook. Really. I just fall asleep way too easily.

5. Your problem is easily resolved by taking lessons in sleep cooking.
I'll try to find the class schedule for you. ;) :bounce:

10. This is the first thread that mentions the 'Tapioca Incident'
I just always refer to it that way.

Long story short. House sitting. I got a late night urge for tapioca pudding. I fell asleep. Melted a pot. Damaged a stove. Slept through an alarm. Did not burn the house down. The smell of burnt tapioca is not one you want embedded into your furniture and carpeting.

13. I can't watch videos either
They're like sleeping pills.

I've fallen asleep twice while standing up. I don't need comfort, quiet or darkness.

18. No
I just sleep like a baby. Close my eyes and I'm there.

I get insanely frustrated if I can't sleep. You've never seen anyone who can toss and turn like I can.

On the rare occasions when I can't turn off, I'm just annoying. I'll get up because I HAVE TO KNOW who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1934. I'll accidental wake people up to see if they want to play cards.

It's better that I sleep.

11. I burned chicken before
Edited on Sat Mar-05-05 06:13 AM by Scooter24
Had the oven on self-cleaning..ooops...

When I finally realized it, it was too late. Then I had problems trying to unlock the oven door.

I swear technology these days...

Don't get me started on how I burned chicken on the George Forman Grill and nearly set the kitchen on fire :D

17. Are you still up or just getting up?
I've got may hours all messed up. When I was sick I slept a lot during the day, and was up all night. I'm easily messed up.

How are you doing?
