No offense, but ladies if you're lookin for a man, you're better off
doing it in a straight bar.

So I went to my favorite bar here in Dallas last night. It's a gay bar where a lot of cowboy types go to dance, drink, and generally have a good time. I'm standing there talking to a friend of mine who is a lesbian and we are joking around when all of a sudden this 20 something blonde girl walks up to me, obviously drunk, and she says, "Why don't you two just go home and sleep together?" And she just continues to walk by! My jaw just about hit the floor! So my friend and I busted out laughing and just let it pass. Well, my friend had to go meet her partner so she left and I walked up to the bar for another drink. I felt someone bump into me on my left side so I turned to see who it was. Yep, it was the blond girl who had made the comment earlier. I just ignored her and got my drink and went to talk to someone else I knew. So as soon as I walked up to the guy I wanted to talk to he says, "You've got an admirer." I said, "If your talking about that blond girl, she's drunker than Cooter Brown!" He said she was standing with some friends earlier and she was pointing at me. Well, I have to admit that I'm flattered that a 20 something blond girl thinks I'm attractive, no matter how drunk she is, but wouldn't you think that she would still realize she's in a gay bar? I have to admit that I don't go to straight bars, but if that's the way the women behave in them maybe I never will go to one.

1. LOL!!
I have had that happen many a time in women's bars... of course, usually the men are there BECAUSE it's a women's bar... irritating as hell it is.

2. unfortunately for straight men, they don't act that way in straight bars..
for some inexplicable reason, some women chase obviously gay men....there's a logical disconnect there that a ton of therapy would help with.

gay men frequently have a fantasy for straight guys, or "bicurious" guys. There is something desirable about the unavailable. Come to think of it, I find you strangely desirable now. Pic please!

5. I knew a girl that only seemed to be attracted to gay men...
and then she would get dramatically heartbroken when it was obvious nothing was ever going to happen. :eyes:

I came to the conclusion that she was either an emotional masochist or that she was too afraid to put herself out there for a realistic relationship.

6. I don't even know if I have any pics of myself. I'll go look.
I don't even know how to post pics even if I do find one. I'm going to the TGRA (Texas Gay Rodeo Association) rodeo today in Fort Worth. I hope to hell she ain't there! hahahahaha. :-)

8. lol.. you might have a stalker
As far as posting here, if you find one on your computer, this is how you do it.

Go to photobucket.com and set up an account. It is free and very simple. Then use the upload button to find the pic on your computer, and save it. Once in the photobucket album, it will give the pic its own address to use to post anywhere you want it. Just copy and paste the address, which is the top one under the picture, and is if by magic, there you are on DU. IF this doesn't make sense, or later whenever you are doing it you need help, PM me or post in the lounge. I or someone else will walk you through it.

I just love a Texas cowboy.

7. Then there are men like my brother
who cultivate the metrosexual look in order to make more women fawn over him like this.

Were you at the Roundup, by any chance?

I suppose that would have been flattering. I suspect you are very cute. :-)

You know, I think there are some straight women who think that they could go home with a gay man. I don't know whether it's delusion or pure ego or what. Perhaps they like the idea of a challenge. :-)

it was only because my gaydar was junk. I'll never buy from Radio Shack again.

12. You must realize that some people are completely clueless
She could very well have not realized she was in a gay bar - really, unbelievable as it seems, there are people who are that obtuse. My hubby once stopped into a bar with his two male friends after a concert - it was immediately clear to him that it was a gay bar which didn't matter a bit to him but it took one friend quite some time to realize it and the other never did. He got hit on in the men's room and after they left, told the others who explained why that was. He still didn't believe it. Oh, and the place was called "The Rainbow Room" and had a rainbow flag hanging prominently over the door. Some people just can't seem to bend their minds around the fact that they and people like them are not the only ones in the world. You know, like Republicans.
