that damn Billy Idol song. All downhill after that.

New Gold Dream must be one of the best albums recorded EVER.

Furs were really good, too, (Check out the lyrics to Here Come Cowboys and it sounds like it's about bush!), but pretty formulaic.

Breathtaking song about the effect of the assassination of Anwar Sadat.

That song alone calls it for me, and for anyone who hasn't heard it, or (gasp) doesn't know about the assassination of Sadat--give it a listen.

Earthshaking event; a lot of what we have happening in the world now would likely have never occurred had Sadat survived.

Edit: pathetic spelling. What can I say, I was moved...

guys from Psychedelic Furs one of whom is Tim Butler the main songwriter from the Furs formed the group Love Spit Love. Most people might have heard one of their songs which is the opening theme song for the TV show CHARMED.

...but the Furs (Butler, Butler & Ashton) reunited a few years back and put out a live vid, too. I saw them about four years ago, and they were still amazing.

One of the best post-punk bands ever, IMHO.

15. Sorry I meant Richard Butler not Tim Butler was the main songwriter

and lead singer with the Psych.Furs and Love Spit Love. I believe his brother Tim played bass with both bands but Richard was the main talent of the two brothers.

9. Simple Minds were a little to commercial for me but they

weren't bad but The Psychedelic Furs were darker,depressing and moodier which is why Roger Water's Pink Floyd was always my favorite band.

12. Psychedelic Furs consistently, while, AFAIC....

Simple Minds really jumped the shark after New God Dream (which is an amazing album...I have it on gold vinyl even!

But the Psychedelic Furs seemed to stay on a stylistic curve, where SM seemed to just strive for a very commercial sound after New Gold Dream.
