Most interesting topic for a college term paper... you decide.
So, it's that time of year again. Time to write term papers. I'm ready to start one for my international relations class. The only problem is I have to choose from a list, and I already did the most interesting one last semseter. Last semester's paper was on the topic "Is free economic exchange beneficial?"

With that stimulating topic no longer an option, I've narrowed it down to these few. Lemme know what you think...

Should rich countries forgive all the debt owed by poor countries?

Are military means the best way to defeat terrorism?

Should the United Nations be given stronger peace keeping capabilities?

Is globalization likely to create a better world?

So, which one do you think would make the best paper?

9. Me too
The paper can cover all means of dealing with terrorism, including the ones Bush intentionally ignored.

8. I would vote for that too
That is a lot information that is readily available from the present as well as historical examples. It should be easy to research and to argue.
Just be sure that it is a topic that you want to stick with. I always ran into trouble because I kept changing and modifying my topic and wasted time doing all that research that I didn't use.

3. If I were writing that paper:
I'd choose:

Is globalization likely to create a better world?

4. I second that choice
There is vast scope for a good sound balanced argument. Without doubt globalisation will have good effects, and without doubt it will have bad effects.

Tons of opportunity for discussion.

5. How about...
"Religion and it's pitfalls in international relations"

Then you can write forever on how religious differences have spawned wars, killed treaties, made permanent enemies of nations, etc. Then you can also show how much more peaceful the world would be without religion.

That should get the class's attention REAL quick. ;)

11. Oh.
I thought you were just showing a list of your own ideas. I didn't realize they were limiting what you could write about. That's no fun!

12. Yeah, it's no fun.
Particularly when half the topics are philosophical nit-picking debates over terminology.

Should rich countries forgive all the debt owed by poor countries?

10. I'm leaning toward the debt relief one.
I've taken quite an interest in economic issues recently, and we had a pretty interesting discussion in our tutorial about this and related issues. Globalization is second at this point.
